What is CDBC?

CDBC is a term used to describe significant difficulties that may affect an individual in multiple areas of functioning, such as learning and development; mental health and behaviour; and adaptive and social skills.

  • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
  • Complex Child and Youth (CCY): ADHD, ADD, etc.

What is the Key Worker Program? 

The main goals of the CDBC Key Worker Program are:

  • Providing support services and referrals to families with children age 0-19 who are referred for a CDBC assessment .
  • Providing support services to families who are experiencing cognitive and/or behavioural challenges with their children, but not requiring assessment.
  • Providing community education and awareness on FASD and CDBC
  • Partnering with other service providers.

The CDBC Key Worker Team includes:

  • Assessment and Youth Support
  • Parent Support
  • Community Support

CDBC Key Worker Services

Support and services provided to parents and/or caregivers of children (0-19) with cognitive and/or behavioural challenges (FASD and similar neurological behavioural conditions, not including Autism) include:

Assessment and Youth Support:

Parent support:

Supporting parents with children living with FASD or similar neurological behavioural conditions aged 0-19. The children do not have to have a diagnosis and they do not have to be in the process of having a Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions assessment.

Community Support:

Providing education, information, and public education regarding FASD and similar neurological behavioural conditions to community members, schools, agencies, and other professionals.  

Regions Covered By CDBC Key Worker Program:

Prince George, Mackenzie, Valemount, McBride, Willow River, Bear Lake, SD 57, Lheidli T'enneh, McLeod Lake, Kwadacha Nation, Tsay Keh Dene.

This group is for parents and caregivers with children living with FASD or simular Nural Behavoural Conditions.
